Automatic Z-Number Measurement
When an area of the scanned image is selected, the XIS series will display the atomic number (Z-Number) for that region. This option allows the operator to identify material groups and to assess threat objects. The atomic number displayed will be accurate within 0.2 counts.

Image Annotation
Allows the operator to draw a frame around a suspect area of the scanned image and enter three alphanumeric letters for reference. The operator can either save the image for later review or transmit the image to a supervisor workstation for secondary review.

Picture Perfect
This feature analyzes and normalizes a scanned image in both color and black and white modes, making all areas visible to the operator. Picture Perfect allows for very clear identification of images containing multiple, layered objects.

Real-time Continuous Diagnostics
The XIS series’ self-diagnostic system and display permits operators to view information such as: Internal Power Supplies, Environmental Temperature, X-ray Generator Power, Operator Time, Relative Humidity, Power Key, Interlock Switch, Emergency Buttons and Diode Map-out.

Screener Assist
Screener Assist is a real-time, programmable detection tool to aid in threat assessment and identification. Operators can define up to four ranges of atomic numbers (Z-Numbers) of objects they are searching for (i.e., guns). Screener Assist will search for these ranges in real-time, and draw ellipses around areas with the specified atomic numbers.

TIP (Threat Image Projection)
An important training component for operators and administrators. Inserts threat items into objects scanned by the operator. If the operator believes there is a threat on the screen, the operator pushes the “Suspect” button on the control panel to identify the threat. If operator fails to identify a threat, the system stops and the image flashes on the screen to warn of the missed threat. Trains operators to recognize and react to threats.

Materials Discrimination
Separates objects based on their atomic number measurement (Z-Number).

Six-color Imaging
The XIS series’ is the only system with software that separates objects into six colors based on their atomic number measurement (Z-Number).
